Shalom Cares Family Interactive Area
Don’t leave the family at home. Bring the kids. Bring the dog. Bring your friends. Heck, bring your dog's friends! Saturday is packed full of kid- and parent-friendly activities - everything from kid parades to dogs-in-drag contests. Spend some time at the family interactive area and visit fun and interactive booths, get your faces painted, slurp down some snow cones, enjoy GLBT friendly cartoons and more!
Want to be a part of the family interactive area? Download and mail in your 2012 application And don't forget your booth/concessions insurance. For a look at our vendor map, click here.
Saturday is Family Field Day at PrideFest. Do you enjoy some friendly competition and a chance for family glory? Compete for prizes and show off your skills with hula-hoops, sack races, relay races, water balloons and more. Ever been to Kiddie Karaoke? Don’t you think you should check it out? We think so too. It’s all going down Saturday, June 16, in the Family Interactive Area on the east side of Broadway and 14th. The Children's Museum of Denver, Shalom Cares, and the Metropolitan Community Church of the Rockies will helping make the 2012 family interactive area the best yet!
The Center is very excited to announce that the Morning Star Miniatures petting zoo and the Rapture Education Foundation will return on site Saturday from 11am to 3pm.
Saturday is also host to the PETCO Dogs in Drag pageant - so dress up your best friend and bring him or her on to compete for fun and prizes.
If you’d like to bring your canine friend, please keep in mind that only kid-friendly dogs who get along with other dogs, people and crowds should come to PrideFest. Sunday is typically too crowded for dogs to safely enjoy their PrideFest experience, so please only bring them along on Saturday. Keep the four-legged friends on a leash at all times, give them plenty of water and make sure he or she is licensed and tagged with current contact information. And of course, make sure you clean up after your dog!
There is plenty more to do all through June and throughout the weekend. Stay tuned for more updates! E-mail Jessie at jgenther@glbtcolorado.org with any questions.
