Using incorrect pronouns (also known as misgendering), is disrespectful and plays a significant role in a creating hostile and unwelcoming atmospheres. This training examines the role and importance of pronouns in everyday interactions and includes a brief overview of gender identity and expression, and best practices for using inclusive communications.
Upstander Intervention
Often times we observe conflicts and situations but don’t know how to intervene safely and effectively. Historically, anti-harassment courses have taught what not to do, but generally exclude techniques for what to do. This course provides effective strategies for identifying when a conflict is occurring and ways to safely intervene. We will discuss a variety of intervention strategies and apply them to different scenarios.
Implementing a Transition Plan at Work
When employees transition gender at work, entire teams and organizations transition with them. Research shows that transgender employees who are able to successfully transition while on-the-job experience higher job satisfaction, as well as improved mental health and life satisfaction. Is your organization prepared to assist employees in gender transitions at work? While every transition will be unique, a formal Transition Plan & Guidelines enables HR, management, and the transitioning employee to successfully navigate the transition in a way that demonstrates support for transgender employees and helps to minimize common problems and pitfalls. This training will assist your organization in developing and implementing Gender Transition plans and policies, address common best practices, and provide document templates for your use. If your organization has already implemented transition related policies and procedures, RANGE offers a trained and licensed attorney to conduct a legal review of your current policies and provide suggestions for improvement and compliance.
LGBTQ+ at Work
This workshop focuses on the responsibilities of management relating to their LGBTQ+ employees. We will review federal and state laws that provide legal protections for LGBTQ+ employees; the business case for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion; best practices and common pitfalls that organizations often experience. We will discuss affirming policies on the topics of restrooms and locker rooms, dress codes, gendered and heteronormative language, respecting religious beliefs and LGBTQ+ identities, inclusive hiring, and interviewing practices, and how to create an inclusive culture for LGBTQ+ employees and community.
Creating Welcoming Environments for LGBTQ+ Patients

Train-the-Trainer Consulting Project
RANGE developed several comprehensive train-the-trainer projects for clients with their own training departments and/or ERG (employee resource group) staff but lacking the expertise, curriculum, and/or materials to deliver LGBTQ+ culturally affirming training to their employees. The projects can range between 3-, 6- or 12-month engagements, and combine the delivery of training and consulting services.
Consulting Services
We can conduct a comprehensive assessment of the organization’s culture, policies and procedures, benefits, and marketing to determine how inclusive they are to supporting an LGBTQ+ workforce and clientele. RANGE requires access to staff within all levels of the organization to conduct meetings, interviews, and surveys. We will provide a preliminary timeline for the project and at the conclusion of the project, provide a summary analysis with reporting and recommendations.
Inclusive workplaces reduce the estimated $64 billion annual attrition cost associated with the nearly two million American workers who leave their jobs each year due to unfairness and discrimination.

“I have been an advocate and ally for LGBTQ people the majority of my life and am fairly educated. This presentation was very informative, compassionate, and timely in shedding light on the most current topics. The presenter was personable, kind, direct, and respectful in their manner of addressing topics with the audience. I would highly recommend this training to any and every company.”
“Fantastic. I have already recommended to others. I didn’t expect to learn much since I had attended many trainings for the same topic but much of it was new (to me) and delivered in interesting and welcoming ways. Everyone felt comfortable participating.”
“The training was the most informative, all inclusive, and welcoming/nonjudgmental I've ever been a part of. It was outstanding. The material was presented in a fresh way, and I enjoyed the conversations that came out of the content presented. The presenter was VERY knowledgeable about the topic and made us as the audience feel very comfortable and encouraged to ask questions. Overall,10/10.”
